Korsosten Old Rus settlement

Korsosten Old Rus settlement

National monument consists of a preserved part fragment of the settlement defensive works (kremlin) and open settlements (post). Materials collected during archaeological studies date back to VI-X centuries and illustrate all the development stages of the Eastern Slavs of this period. They confirm the chronicle story about the city burning in 946 by the army of Kiev Princess Olga. The settlement is located near national monuments "Svyattya" and "Olzhych bathing" and constitute a single historical and natural complex. The park zone, bordering with the archaeological sites, is interesting for its glacial period natural formations.
