Princess Halshka Ostroh was called the most beautiful woman in Europe, considered the richest bride. She was first widowed when she was less than 15, and then spent 14 years in the tower of the "Black Princess". The image of this woman is shrouded in numerous legends. They are still told to all those who fall into Ostroh Castle. Because it was here that the princess was born, married here, and returned here when she was widowed for the third time. At the same time, the princes of Ostroh owned the city of Zaslav (now Izyaslav). He was forever glorified by Princess Anastasia Zaslavskaya. It was she who decided to order a translation of the Holy Scriptures into the vernacular. This is how the Ukrainian First Book, the Peresopnytsia Gospel, appeared.

Another residence of the Ostroh princes is the castle in Starokostiantyniv. This fortress was built to defend against the Tatars. It is said that Severin Nalyvayko visited its walls. So if you want to know who the most beautiful woman in Europe loved, whether Severin Nalyvayko could be the son of Halshka, as well as how the book of one princess became a symbol of the nation, and climb the tower in Ostroh, where, they say, ghosts rarely appear, take pictures in the background picturesque ruins of Starozaslav Castle, look at the palace of the Sangushki princes in Izyaslav and visit Starokostiantyniv, then this route is just for you.
